About our Kids Ballroom and Latin Classes
Since joining a kids dance class from young ages, Kyle and the rest of the teachers at Elite place huge value on what they offer!
Are you looking for a dance class lead by great teachers, with super routines and a buzzing atmosphere? You may just have found some of the best dance classes Ballroom and Latin have to offer!
With all of our teachers playing their part in these classes, we have developed a truly great experience, classes ranging from 4 years to 16 years and all abilities welcome from beginner to intermediate and highly competitive, we have a class for everyone.
Classes commence with warm-up, 5 minutes of stretching and exercise to music, getting everyone nimble and in the mood whilst promoting fitness. We then follow with either the Ballroom or Latin American section of the class (both lasting around 20 mins in most scenarios) starting with a recap from the previous week before heading to learn figures and technique based on the 10 different Ballroom and Latin dances in anticipation for any events, exams or goals set for the children upcoming, after we switch to the other style and repeat the same process. Throughout the class our teachers support the children by demonstrating routines clearly and even offer a little 1-2-1 (teacher and 1 pupil) help if needed. Dancing to music is a priority and we use it as much as possible, once children can begin to dance any steps we get the music playing and instil the expression of music. At the end of the class we have discussions to really get any message of the class to hit home, we speak to the children with respect and make them feel accomplished with quiz's and Q&A's based on everything they have learnt.

Freestyle Disco Dance Classes
About Our Disco Freestyle and Rock and Roll Classes
Are you looking for a fast paced fun class? Then this class is perfect for you!
Lead by Joanne Blackshaw and Chelsea Fox, children learn various routines from the different styles along with the supporting techniques. The routines are typically fast (but not too difficult to follow) with a sprinkle of slower routines to create a good mix of energetic and expressive dancing. Routines are based on current songs which make you want to get up and dance. A typical session starts with warm-up to get the kids moving, stretched out and in the right frame of mind before heading to any recaps from previous weeks followed by breaking down and learning new routines. Throughout the session everything is covered both slowly and then danced frequently to music helping to build confidence and skill. Whilst offering a really good workout, improving flexibility, mobility and endurance. To end the class we work on performance by dancing full-out to music motivating everyone to raise their game. Our Disco Freestyle classes are great fun and very welcoming, we know you will love them!
New to the class?
Dont worry, as we pride ourselves on having not only great teachers but always someone at hand to help, any child trying to get up to speed will have the support of our additional teachers. Our assistant teachers are great at working with new dancers to help them feel supported and confident all the way.

Competitive Sequence Class
Sequence dance classes are graceful, structured, and full of enjoyment! They are fantastic for building confidence, improving coordination, and developing a strong sense of rhythm.
Our classes are designed for all ages to enjoy while learning the beauty of Classical, Modern and Latin sequence dancing.
We follow the ISTD syllabus, ensuring proper technique and progression, with the option to take examinations for those who wish to achieve awards and recognition.
Group dances are a key part of our classes, helping to develop teamwork skills while also allowing for solo performances. We aim to showcase their talents in displays and medal presentations throughout the year.

Why Elite Dance Classes
Kids classes are a great way to get your little ones active in a fun and friendly environment. We offer classes in Modern Ballroom, Latin American, Disco Freestyle and Rock "n" Roll throughout the week across Chelmsford.
Our dance classes are filled with fun and exciting dance routines supported by a good dose of technical learning to improve not just what children do, but how they do it. Your children will develop the coordination, strength and flexibility needed as part of becoming an established young dancer. There is focus on more creative musical expression and, as they grow in their understanding of dance you will see a positive change in their posture and presence.
All children are placed in an age/ability appropriate class to ensure they get the best class experience.

(please note exams and competitions are NOT compulsory but are there for those who wish to follow a more structured dance academy)
Classes are particularly good for newcomers to dancing, there are additional helpers who will make you feel very comfortable and welcome from the word go. Children do not need a partner to participate and all children are placed in an age/ability appropriate class to ensure they get the most out of dancing.
If your child shows particular passion for progressing and possibly entering competitions and doing exams, we will make sure we find the right partner for your child to advance their skills.
All our Childrens Classes are suitable from age 4 to 15 and are spilt into age and ability.

Many activities are believed to be beneficial for our littles ones but do any stand out from the crowd? We believe we know the answer.
Kids dance has many positives from all the social interaction with like minded children to perfecting skills with grit and determination plus everything in between. It's a well know fact that children make friends based on their interests, there is a strong social aspect associated to dancing, besides learning all the steps and technique, children get the opportunity meet new people and develop relationships with likeminded peers. Another great bonus is promoting physical development. most forms of dance require a strong core, flexibility, speed and strength! Attending regular dance classes or lessons is such a great way to maintain a great lifestyle. Besides great fitness benefits dance also promotes good discipline and responsibility. It's common for most dancers to participate in exams and competitions, with a desire to perform well children have an amazing ability to raise their game and bring their very best when it matters but it doesn't stop there, consistent practice and hard work is key to truly master dance skills and as new abilities become possible and easier, confidence grows and breeds a recipe for success! We truly believe that regular dancing is an amazing activity for kids who love expressing movement, making friends and have a competitive mindset.

More Than Just Great Children's Dance Classes
At Elite we are determined to provide the best experience for all our little dancers. We've learnt over the years how best to interact with children and set valuable goals whilst keep interest high! It's important to all our teachers that every child has a great time and can still gain all the important factors we teach to become a super little dancer. Using a simple yet effective structure and a great of care topped with a little enthusiasm, it’s easy for kids to learn in our classes. Are beginners able to join your classes?
Yes. We have beginner classes from ages 4-16 throughout the week.
Are advanced dancers welcome in your classes?
Yes. We have a competitors classes and private lessons available for more experienced dancers.
Do you have dance classes near me for 2 year olds?
We offer one-to-one lessons for ages 2 and 3 however, we currently do not offer classes for children under the age of 4.
Are there any baby dance classes near me?
No. We currently don't offer any dance classes for babies.
What classes do you have for kids?
We hold Ballroom, Latin, Sequence and Disco Freestyle classes for all ages and levels.
Do you offer any free online dance classes?
We have a 3-wk trial offer available for all of our classes, which is £14.
When do your classes take place?
We hold kids classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting from 4pm. We are always opening new classes so feel free to enquire about other days.

We offer a direct debit option to spread the cost throughout the year. Starting £24 per month.

They run each week in school term times.
Do you have any toddler dance classes?
Currently we don't hold any toddler dance classes, one-to-one lessons could be a good alternative for you.
